Healthcare software development

We build software for patients, clinicians and the teams behind them. Telehealth platforms, remote patient monitoring, AI clinical documentation and apps paired with medical hardware, shipped and in use around the world.

We work with health companies at every stage, from a founder with a clinical idea and no engineering team, to a device maker who needs the app that ships alongside the hardware, to a platform already in use that needs to scale.

Telemedicine and patient portals

Most of the complexity in a virtual visit sits on the clinician side, so the patient app, the clinician portal and the scheduling, records and video between them are worth planning together. We built Vita Health, a US teletherapy and psychiatry service for 12 to 24-year-olds, as iOS, Android and web apps with a clinician portal, in-platform video and single sign-on. Vita Health is HIPAA compliant.

Remote patient monitoring

A monitoring product collects a little data every day for months, and the difficulty is at the receiving end, turning a long stream of entries into something a clinician can read in the few minutes an appointment allows. HealMate does that for people living with rare diseases, patients logging symptoms and habits on mobile and doctors reading the patterns on a web dashboard. We have also built an app that tracks patients with rare blood diseases, used for study purposes across several European countries.

Mental health and behavioural therapy apps

Behavioural health apps ask people to keep coming back over weeks or months, so engagement design and clinical content have to be built together. Pamble is our own product, built by Wolfpack Digital Labs with therapists from the Romanian and European Associations for the Study of Gambling, a phased programme for problem gambling combining self-assessment, mindfulness exercises and progress tracking. It has been featured in Forbes Romania and won the AlphaHub Accelerator powered by Paddy Power Betfair. ReActive uses cognitive behavioural therapy to help people manage Overactive Bladder, pairing gamified patient modules with a clinician dashboard, and its patient data storage is HIPAA compliant.

AI clinical documentation

An ambient documentation tool only works if the clinician trusts the draft enough to sign it, which means the model must not add anything that was not said. Clinicians spend up to 44% of a clinical shift documenting in EHR systems. SOARR was created by emergency physicians to change that, and our team designed and built the platform. It captures the consultation, transcribes it and generates a structured note the clinician reviews and edits, with voice macros, custom AI instructions and anti-hallucination safeguards. The published result is up to 50% less documentation time per shift.

Medical device companion apps

A companion app is the operating interface for hardware being used on a patient, so it carries the pairing, the recording, the analysis and the sync, and it has to behave sensibly with no network at all. BrainCapture links an Android app to an EEG cap and amplifier so epilepsy can be diagnosed in low-resource settings, working offline and uploading securely for a specialist to read remotely. We followed IEC 62304 throughout that build. PowerMedic drives the HyperLaser therapy device from an Android tablet, and U-Image pairs with a wireless ultrasound device to give doctors, students and trainees a shared cloud library of scans. This work is part of our IoT software development.

Pharmacy, hospital and public health software

These are operational systems, judged on whether they save a pharmacist, an administrator or a health authority time. Amplicare gave community pharmacies Medicare plan comparison, cost estimates and workflow automation, delivered as iOS and Android tablet apps embedding the existing web application, and over 5,000 independent pharmacies used the service daily. For Primary.Health we built iOS and Android apps that scan a test result with the phone camera and keep a per-user dashboard and result history for a household. We also build inventory software for pharmacies and hospitals, and we ran a design engagement for the HSE National Social Inclusion Office.

AI in healthcare

Where does AI fit in healthcare software? Clinical teams use it for decision support, triage and note-taking, and each of those uses inherits whatever bias sits in the data the model learned from. Wolfpack Digital built Equality AI, a platform that gives data scientists an end-to-end fairness framework for developing clinical decision-making algorithms, with pre- and post-mitigation comparison and graphical results. It won the 2024 Webby Award in the Responsible AI category at the 28th Annual Webby Awards, from more than 13,000 submissions.

Our team has extensive experience building to HIPAA. We adhere to stringent guidelines for protecting patient information, with robust encryption, secure data storage and regular compliance audits across every aspect of the technology we deliver. On ReActive, patient data storage methods are HIPAA compliant. We also hold ISO 27001:2013 certification for our information security management system, independently audited every year, alongside ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. If your product also handles EU or UK patient data, that data is special-category under GDPR and needs its own treatment, which we plan alongside HIPAA rather than after it. Consent, access rules and audit trails are architecture decisions rather than settings, and building them in from the start costs a fraction of retrofitting them the week before a funding round or a hospital procurement review.
Yes. Our apps are designed and developed in compliance with IEC 62304, which sets the life cycle requirements for medical device software. That covers the development process itself along with maintenance, risk management and problem resolution, and it is what makes the software safe, effective and reliable enough for medical use.
We encrypt data with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit, manage and rotate keys, apply role-based access control on the principle of least privilege, require multi-factor authentication where the role warrants it, and keep audit logs for traceability. We run a third-party risk assessment on every vendor before it touches patient data, and our staff are GDPR-trained. Where a product sends recordings or documents to a third-party AI service, we add an explicit consent step first, as we did on Fyl, a conversation-recording app whose use cases include medical appointments, where users consent before their recordings are processed by AI.
Yes, over Bluetooth Low Energy. The three device builds in our services above are the live examples: an EEG cap and amplifier, a laser therapy device and a wireless ultrasound platform.
Yes, patient app, clinician portal and the layer between them, planned together rather than one at a time. Vita Health is the shipped example.
Yes. We follow IEC 62366-1 throughout, the usability engineering standard that keeps the design safe, effective and user-centred, and we work to IEC 62304 for the software life cycle. Classification and submission sit with you and your regulatory advisor, so we design and document the product around the classification you are targeting. It matters early, because whether a feature interprets clinical data or only records and organises it can be the difference between a wellness app and a regulated medical device. Our explainer on software as a medical device covers where that line usually falls.
Yes. We build health apps that pair with connected devices for real-time data collection and remote monitoring, which is how BrainCapture, PowerMedic and U-Image work. The wider capability is on our IoT software development page.
Yes, across telehealth, digital therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics, pharmacy and clinical AI. The full set is in our work. The other sectors we build for are in industries.
Yes. Health products change constantly, whether that is an OS release, new device firmware, a regulator's guidance or a clinical workflow that turned out differently in practice. We run app maintenance and QA and app testing as ongoing services.
It depends on the platforms you need, how much clinical workflow the product has to model, whether it connects to hardware, and which compliance regime applies. A single-platform patient app and a multi-role clinical platform with a device integration are different orders of magnitude. The most useful thing you can do is talk it through with us, and our pricing information page shows how we structure engagements.
