Fyl ("get your story straight") is a cross-platform mobile app that records important conversations and turns them into clear, fact-only summaries written in a warm, trustworthy tone. It's built for the moments where the detail matters and memory falls short, like medical appointments, financial reviews, family discussions, and complex work meetings.

One-Tap Recording with Meeting & Memo Modes
Recording starts with a single tap, in either Meeting mode for conversations with others or Memo mode, where Fyl works as a personal note-taker. The interaction is intentionally minimal so users can stay present and engaged in the moment rather than managing an app.

Fact-Only Summaries at Two Reading Levels
Every recording becomes a clear, fact-only summary written in a warm, trustworthy tone instead of cold transcription-speak. Summaries are available at Standard and Simplified reading levels, so the same conversation is accessible whether the reader wants full detail or a plain, easy-to-follow account.

Punctuated, Speaker-Labelled Transcripts
Alongside each summary, Fyl provides a full transcript that is properly punctuated and speaker-labelled. This lets users verify exactly who said what, which matters when the stakes are high and precise wording counts.

"Story so far" Running Narrative
The "Story so far" feature stitches related recordings into a single connected narrative, so users stay oriented across an ongoing situation rather than treating each appointment or meeting as an isolated event. It turns a scattered series of conversations into one coherent thread.

Themed Folders, Calendar View & Structured Sharing
Recordings can be organised into themed folders and revisited through a calendar view for fast navigation through history. Users can share a structured summary with family, caregivers, or teammates, giving everyone an accurate record of what was decided without needing to have been present.

The challenge

The conversations that matter most are often the ones we're least equipped to remember accurately. In a medical appointment, a person is processing difficult news while trying to retain treatment details. In a financial review, the numbers move faster than anyone can note them down. When a family member calls in for a relative's appointment from another city, they're piecing together what happened second-hand. The cost of misremembering is real, and existing tools don't help: raw voice memos still have to be re-listened to, and standard transcription produces cold, hard-to-read walls of text that bury the facts rather than surface them.

The product challenge was to capture these conversations effortlessly and return something genuinely useful, not a transcript dump. That meant summaries that are accurate and fact-only, never embellished, yet written in a tone that feels human and reassuring rather than clinical. It also meant handling sensitive personal, medical, and financial information to a standard that earns trust, which placed privacy and GDPR compliance at the centre of every design and engineering decision.

The solution

Wolfpack Digital designed and developed Fyl as a cross-platform mobile app built with Kotlin Multiplatform, delivering a single, consistent experience across iOS and Android from a shared codebase. The core interaction is deliberately simple: the user taps once to record, choosing either Meeting mode for conversations with others or Memo mode, where Fyl acts as a personal note-taker. From that single tap, the app handles the rest, transforming the recording into a structured, readable account of what was discussed.

At the heart of the product is the summary engine. Rather than producing transcription-speak, Fyl generates fact-only summaries written in a warm, trustworthy tone, and offers them at two reading levels, Standard and Simplified, so the same conversation can be understood by anyone regardless of how much detail they want. Full transcripts remain available, punctuated and speaker-labelled, for users who need to verify the exact wording. The "Story so far" feature stitches related recordings into a single running narrative, so someone navigating an ongoing situation, such as a course of treatment or a long financial process, stays oriented across many separate conversations.

The experience is built around three real moments: the specialised meeting, where the goal is to stay present and recall detail later; the family advocate, bridging distance to follow a loved one's appointment; and the reliable messenger, reporting back to others without bias. To support all three, Fyl lets users organise recordings into themed folders, move quickly through history with a calendar view, and share a structured summary with family, caregivers, or teammates so everyone knows exactly what was decided without having to be in the room.

Privacy is front and centre rather than an afterthought. Fyl is designed and built in Europe and fully GDPR compliant, an essential foundation given the sensitive medical, financial, and personal conversations the app is built to hold. The app has launched and is currently in beta testing.
