The challenge

Transreport is the UK's fastest-growing accessibility technology company on a mission to put disabled and older passengers in charge of their journey in a way they hadn't been before.

To support this mission, our team needed to deeply understand the unique needs of disabled and older passengers to address their challenges and improve their travel experience with a suite of smart solutions designed to make train travel more accessible and inclusive.

Rail travel can be particularly daunting for elderly and disabled people due to the complexities of arranging assistance, which traditionally required long phone calls and cumbersome arrangements, often leading to stress and uncertainty.

We addressed the challenge of creating a comprehensive solution that would streamline the process of requesting assistance and ensure that it was highly accessible and easy to use for both passengers and rail staff.

The solution

The Wolfpack Digital team collaborated closely with Transreport to develop a suite of smart solutions comprising a web app and an iOS and Android mobile app designed following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines in consultation with disabled people.

The app's core features were conceived to transform the assistance booking process into a transparent, comfortable, and reassuring experience for users and are accompanied by accessibility features like screen reader compatibility, voiceover control, and customizable color themes that accommodate users with various access needs. 

The result is a state-of-the-art smart technology solution that integrates user-friendly UX/UI design with powerful IoT components, ensuring a seamless and dignified travel experience for all passengers.
