Glimpse is a community-powered fashion discovery app for iOS that surfaces authentic outfit inspiration from real people through community voting, with no ads and no recommendation algorithms. Each user shares one outfit per day, and the feed is ranked by community votes rather than paid placements or engagement-driven signals.

Community Voting

Users vote on outfits shared by others, and those votes determine what rises in visibility across the feed. Voting is the central mechanic of the app and replaces algorithmic recommendations with a transparent, community-driven signal.

Trend Discovery Feed

The discovery feed is populated by outfits gaining traction based on community votes, so what surfaces as a trend reflects real community behaviour rather than paid placement or engagement optimisation.

Scenes - Style Communities

Scenes are communities within the app that allow people with similar style to come together and build a collection of outfits matching a shared aesthetic, creating a sense of belonging beyond the main feed.

The challenge

Fashion discovery on mainstream social platforms is dominated by advertising, paid placements, and opaque algorithms that serve brands' interests before users'. Feeds are flooded with sponsored content and influencer deals, making it difficult to find genuine, unfiltered style inspiration. Users who want to know what real people are actually wearing are left with a feed shaped by commercial intent rather than real-world style.

The product challenge was to build a discovery experience driven by the community itself rather than by advertisers or recommendation algorithms, while controlling post volume so that the feed stays fresh and every outfit has a fair chance to be seen. The goal was to create a space where style inspiration comes from real context, and where everyday users can contribute to style culture without needing to be influencers.

The solution

Wolfpack Digital developed Glimpse as an iOS app with a supporting backend, covering iOS development, design clean-up and iteration on selected functionalities, product management, and QA. Community voting sits at the centre of the product: users vote on outfits shared by others, and those votes determine what rises in visibility across the feed. Each user shares one outfit per day, which keeps content fresh and volume controlled.

The iOS app was built with Swift and SwiftUI, the backend runs on Ruby on Rails, and the platform is hosted on Heroku. Wolfpack Digital implemented the voting infrastructure, authentication and login system, push notifications, and privacy and data handling that underpin the product.

Alongside the main feed, Wolfpack Digital built Scenes — communities within the app (for example, "Campus fashion") where members with similar style come together and post outfits matching a shared aesthetic. This gives Glimpse a sense of belonging beyond a single global feed.

Glimpse is live on the App Store and is currently being tested with a selected pool of users to find product-market fit before a broader launch.
