The challenge

Integrating the DinoLingo platform with multiple U.S. school systems presented significant technical and compliance hurdles. The system needed to work seamlessly with diverse student information systems, enable secure teacher and student access, and meet strict educational data privacy regulations. Additionally, we had to implement essential product features, such as account registration, role-based login, automated email communications, accessibility support through video subtitles, and AWS infrastructure cost optimization, without disrupting the existing user experience or compromising performance.

The solution

We designed and implemented a secure integration layer that ensured compatibility with various school systems while safeguarding student data. Role-based authentication and account registration workflows were built to accommodate both teachers and students. We integrated SendGrid to automate email templates for onboarding and notifications, added subtitles to all instructional videos to meet accessibility standards, and restructured AWS infrastructure to reduce hosting costs without sacrificing reliability. This end-to-end solution allowed teachers to log in, administer tests, and grade students directly within the DinoLingo app, while maintaining high scalability, maintainability, and compliance.
