women's history month

As the month of March, which is also Women’s History Month, is coming to an end, we want to take a moment and look at how we’ve celebrated the ladies in our team and the progress we’ve made as a community to overcome inequality, although we strongly believe that women should be celebrated and respected all year round! The month of March simply gives us an opportunity to tackle the topic.

Let’s start things off with the exciting event we organized for Women’s Day — a Girls’ Night In! While the food was delicious, the movie was thrilling, and the team building activities were fun, the party’s je ne sais quoi were the presents! 🤩

Besides the delicious artisanal chocolates made in Cluj and the floral hint, the ladies received a personalized Mărțișor, which is a small symbol of Spring, with a red & white ribbon. The Mărțișor is a tradition in our region and it is usually offered in March to women. 🌺

Building a future of gender equality 🎨

Experiences and gifts are a nice way of showing our appreciation. But true progress towards more diversity needs to be nurtured every day in countless big and small ways. And most importantly, by walking the talk!

As one of the (few) women-led software companies in Romania and Europe, we build and maintain a culture of diversity and inclusion, both within and as part of the tech scene. We do this because we believe that diverse teams ultimately deliver better results. 🌍

When taking new people into the Pack, we care about their diligence, openness, and drive. We find that those qualities have nothing to do with gender, sexual orientation, nationality, race, religion, or other aspects.

Our team’s gender distribution at the beginning of 2022 is the following:

  • C-level: 50% female

  • Management: 47% female

  • Technical (dev, design, QA): 30% female

  • Company-wide: 35% female

And we are moving more and more toward balance at Wolfpack Digital. What is nice is that this is happening naturally, and this shows the importance of role models and that of having an inclusive culture.

We’d also like to take the opportunity to salute Women in Tech Cluj, where Gina, our CEO and founder, is a founding member. They’re an open community dedicated to growing together and supporting each other. 📣

How companies can do their part 👩‍💼

Being a diverse, equal-opportunity company doesn’t end with the recruiting process. Creating a supportive environment for your team is equally important. The first steps in that direction are to accept that everyone is different and to create a pleasant workspace where everyone can be productive. We believe this has to do a lot with listening and being open to suggestions. That’s why good and empathetic communication should be a priority for any business. 💬

One last thought we’d like to leave you with is that celebrating and supporting women, and people in general, means providing them with support and the means to further develop professionally and personally. Whether it’s through mentoring, training, or other opportunities, employers have the beautiful option to become a prominent positive influence in people’s lives. 🙌

If you’d like to know more about our views on company culture and the values that propel Wolfpack Digital forward, we’re prepared just the article for you!

IoT app testing doesn't follow the same rules as standard mobile QA. Most testing frameworks are built around one assumption: the app is the product. When hardware enters the picture, that assumption breaks fast.
