Q4/2020 wrap-up: Living at the 'hinge of history' & tech

There are so many things going on today! We can actually say that we're living at the 'hinge of history'!

This is the shortest (Mon)day of the year since it is the winter solstice and we're tilted as far away from the Sun as possible, and Christmas Star will be at its peak today and it can be seen from nearly all around the globe!

Can you believe that after a year of facing a pandemic, we are now going to see the alignment of Saturn and Jupiter occurred at night? This only happens once in 800 years! 

What a year!

All in all, 2020 is coming to an end soon and we wanted to wrap-up the 4th quarter in a story here.

It was a complicated year for everyone. A year about being agile, resilient, and empathetic. 

This last quarter was like a marathon for our team! And we are more than grateful and honored to have had such a positive end of 2020

14 events we've participated in (as mentors, speakers, jury, or participants)

October caught us at SaaStock EMEA (and we really want to join the event in its live-in-Dublin version as well), then we met an amazing community of startups and entrepreneurs in the Medtech industry while we were at Biomedica on the move. Startups are also part of our world, so we also spent our time mentoring the teams at How to Web Startup Spotlight and the teams at Innovation Labs.

Internally, our team celebrated International Coffee Day by going out with their team and drinking their coffee during the standup meeting☕

Then people decided to run an auction to see which team will organize what within the company - yes, our events are so cool that the teams fight to organize them. ✨

And by mid-October we needed another boost of energy, so we went for a Karting session with the team!🏎 I was a fun team experience, and it was also safe as we could keep the distance quite easily.

Then we started a Hacktoberfest with a few coworkers, threw a quiz night, picked the quinces from our office garden and had a cooking-jam-night, 🎃 and ended the month with a scary Halloween Party! 🎃☠️🕷️🧛🦇

November was intense! 

We continued the mentorship time How to Web Startup Spotlight and at Define School, moderated Women in Tech Cluj | Women in Academic Tech Research, and participated in Demo Day StepFWD, King’s Expert Series (a webinar on Children and Young People's Mental Health), and a few wolves participated in Zoohackathon and got in Top 10 with their solution to increase awareness regarding wildlife trafficking solution. Fun fact, the Zoohacktahon was organized by the Free Spirit Foundation, The U.S. Embassy France, and the U.S. Department of State.
And, on the same page with all the events, we are more than happy to have had sponsored LightsOnRomania! An amazing festival in Cluj promoting light-art.

Novembers's accolades:

1. Wolfpack Digital was named as a leader in the Exclusive Annual Report of "Top 50+ iPhone And iOS Mobile App Companies Nov-2020" 
2. Ranked #3rd in Top Businesses in România 2020 according to Lista Firme 

We kicked off December with WebSummit and Tech Innovation Singapore and we loved all the stages, speakers and we were happy to meet a lot of inspirational tech entrepreneurs! And we also sponsored a student NGO for their online European BEST Engineering Competition and also jumped in during the contest as a jury.

The rest of the month was mostly dedicated to our team, a lot and we had a Xmas Bingo with a lot of challenges for our team (from recording themselves singing carols to all sorts of funny things - we will not share those here, but cherish them within the team), there was also an 🎄👕Ugly Xmas Sweater Day👕🎄 when all the standups ended with a sweater showcasing. 

🎅🧝🎄🎁 Then we sent our elves to every single wolf in the pack to offer them early gifts and wish them well! 🎅🧝🎄🎁 

And after everyone received their pack of goodies, we've raised a toast (or two) over and Online Xmas Wine/Tea Party🥂 (the legend says it started around 7 PM and it ended at 3 AM - so we can say people enjoyed our party even though it was online!

We are thankful for having such an amazing team taking care of all the projects that entrepreneurs hand to us. 

December accolades 

• Wolfpack Digital is in the global Top 1000 Service Providers for 2020. Actually, we are not only in the Top 1000, but we made it in the Top 250 companies globally! And this only motivates us to keep improving and raising the bar so every app that we work with gets a top-notch service and code quality from us!
• MobileAppDaily named us the Agency of the week in December and gave us a shoutout to all their audience.
• Georgina Lupu, the CEO & founder of Wolfpack Digital, wrote the amazing story of 2020 in Review: Resilience and Metamorphosis. A story from someone who had to lead, motivate, and to be the safety net for almost 60 people during these times.

All in all, 2020 was a challenge and the last quarter was more of a marathon for us, but it all went great and we are grateful for everything!
